Ahead of the High Holidays, the National Security Council released an updated threat assessment for Israelis abroad from terror elements, aimed at increasing public awareness of threats. The council stated that staying in Jordan, Qatar, Somaliland and Egypt, including the Sinai Peninsula, should be avoided entirely. Additionally, entry into Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Somalia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Libya and Algeria should be avoided. Countries surrounding Iran remain exposed to terrorist activity from terror infrastructures on the ground as a result of their geographic proximity. Notable among them are Azerbaijan, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
