U.S. Embassy issues unusual warning: Staff restricted to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Beer Sheva areas

The U.S. Embassy in Israel issued a security alert for its employees, stating that due to increasing regional tensions, government employees in the country are not permitted to travel outside "the greater Tel Aviv area, Jerusalem and Beer Sheva." According to the announcement, travel between these areas is allowed, as well as travel to Ben Gurion Airport, via Highway 1 and to the Allenby Crossing.
