Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi called to fire Knesset Legal Adviser Sagit Afik due to her letter expressing concern about the conduct of Communications Committee Chair MK Galit Distel Atbaryan. "I was shocked to read her letter," he said. "This serious abuse of her position allows no other action but the immediate dismissal of the Knesset legal adviser by the Knesset speaker. Unfortunately, I have come to discover in recent months that Sagit Afik has turned the Knesset's legal counsel into the long arm of Maiara and Sompolinsky in order to thwart legislation they do not favor."
