The Health Ministry reported Thursday evening that 1,876 new coronavirus cases had been diagnosed the day prior.
With 28 thousand tests conducted, the contagion rate now stands at 6.8%.
There are 907 patients in serious condition, with 297 connected to ventilators.
The death toll since the start of the pandemic stands at 5,501.
