Heavy sleet in Tel Aviv area ahead of harsh weekend

As destructive storm system, which claimed several lives and caused billions in damages, still fresh in memory, Israel braces for another frosty weekend

Local rain showers around the country expected to end by Wednesday evening, with heavy sleet raining around Tel Aviv metropolitan area in the afternoon, leaving the area covered in ice.

  • Thursday is expected to be partly cloudy with rain in northern and central Israel. On Thursday evening, heavy rain clouds will travel from the north all the way to the upper reaches of the Negev desert, accompanied by strong winds and possible thunderstorms.
