Netanyahu asks ex-Jerusalem mayor Barkat to be his next finance minister

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he has asked former Jerusalem mayor Nir Barkat to be finance minister should he form the next government after the March 2 elections.
Current finance minister Moshe Kahlon has announced his retirement from politics after the upcoming vote, which will be Israel's third national ballot in less than 12 months.
