Coronavirus czar proposes to increase fine for violating restrictions

Coronavirus czar Prof. Ronni Gamzu proposed during a meeting of the government's coronavirus Cabinet to increase the fines imposed on those violating the restrictions.
"Enforcement on businesses must be increased and the issue of enforcement and fines must be tightened," said Gamzu. "Some businesses simply say 'I will pay the fine of NIS 5,000.' This is why we propose to double said fine to NIS 10,000. In prohibited multi-participant events we propose to increase the fine to NIS 50,000."
