Saudi Arabia has allowed a limited number of pilgrims to access Mecca's Grand Mosque complex, which is home to the Kaaba, Islam's holiest site.
At the early stages, only 6,000 pilgrims per day will be allowed to access the Kaaba. In a bid to avoid crowds, they must schedule their visits in advance using an app and are granted three hours inside.
For now, the site, which is cleaned and sterilized several times per day, only remains accessible to Saudi nationals and residents.
