Israel posts 1,865 new COVID cases, infection rate at 2.7%

The Health Ministry said Friday morning that 1,865 new cases of coronavirus were detected out of almost 71,000 coronavirus tests conducted in the previous 24 hours, meaning 2.7% of them returned positive.
There are currently 579 COVID-19 patients hospitalized across Israel, 320 of them in serious condition.
Since the onset of the pandemic in Israel, 2,962 patients have died of coronavirus-related complications.
