Hussein Al-Sheikh, Head of the General Authority of Civil Affairs of the Palestinian Authority, indirectly commented Saturday on the death of outspoken critic Nizar Banat, who died under PA custody Thursday.
"Law and order and transparency are a right and we promise to protect all Palestinians," he said. "They protect the political, social and national fabric. No man is above the law."
This is the first comment on Banat's death by a Palestinian official.
