The chairman of the Judicial Selection Committee, Justice Minister Avi Nissenkorn, published a response to the boycott instigated by the committee's right-wing representatives.
"These attempts to harm the committee's work in favor of political activism have not succeeded and will not succeed," wrote Nissenkorn on his Twitter page. "We will continue to act impartially to appoint judges. I will not allow any foreign consideration into this space."
Nissenkorn published his comment after MK Osnat Mark, MK Zvi Hauser and Minister Miri Regev announced they will not attend the commeet's Sunday hearing, as there is a majority in favor of advancing Jerusalem Magistrate's Judge Abbas Assi to the city district court.
