Clashes erupted Sunday between settlers and Palestinians in the West Bank, resulting in two man being moderately injured and four other sustaining light injuries.
According to Israel's N12 channel, some 100 Palestinians began hurling rocks at five settlers who arrived at a hilltop nearby Palestinian agricultural land.
One of the settlers was reportedly hit in the head with a pickaxe, which prompted a member of his group to open fire moderately wounding a Palestinian.
One person was taken to the hospital with was believed to be bullet wounds, Israel Police confirmed.
The incident occurred near the settlement of Ma’ale Shomron in the northern West Bank after several settler youths arrived at a nearby valley, police said in a statement.
A brawl then erupted between them and Palestinians who were farming nearby, the police added.
All of the wounded were evacuated from the area as police and military forces began an investigation into the incident.
