Unemployed passes 800,000, rate jumps to 19.6%

The total number of unemployed in Israel continued to rise Wednesday due to the coronavirus crisis, passing the 800,000 mark.
Of those, 657,876 are new enrollees in the Employment Service since the beginning of March - 90% of them are in unpaid leave, according to the Employment Service.
According to the data, the unemployment rate is at 19.6%.
