Police Chief Yaakov Shabtai said Tuesday that he vehemently denies CalCalist's claims that the police used NSO's controversial "Pegasus" spyware to remotely hack the phones of Israeli citizens without a search warrant and without court supervision of any kind.
"The Israel Police does not use its advanced technological capabilities against civilians and innocent demonstrators," said Shabtai.
