A man armed with knives was detained Sunday by community security officers in the southern Gaza Strip border area.
One of the security officers was reportedly lightly wounded after being stabbed.
The suspect was neutralized by local security officers in the Hevel Shalom area, near the borders of Israel, Gaza and Egypt.
Residents of Hevel Shalom were asked to remain in their homes while security forces searched the area.
A spokesperson said that the circumstances of the incident are still being investigated.
