Royal Jordanian Airlines has suspended flights between Amman and Rome until further notice starting from Wednesday, the company said in a statement on its website.
The statement added that Royal Jordanian has consolidated several flights to "far east" destinations, bringing average cancellations of weekly Asian operations to up to 50%.
The group's president and chief executive Stefan Pichler said the decisions were aimed at ensuring the safety of travelers in light of the increasing numbers of coronavirus infections in Italy and some Asian countries.
He added that the group was taking all possible measures to help Jordan stay virus-free.
