Organizations for the rights of Ethiopian immigrants filed on Monday a petition to the Jerusalem District Court against reinstating a police officer who was accused of negligently causing the death of 18-year-old Solomon Teka.
"This is illegal, unreasonable and contrary to elementary public values," said Prof. Ariel Bendor, a law faculty member at Bar Ilan University and one of the lawyers representing the petitioners. "It is unthinkable that police themselves... accepted the defendant back into service during his criminal trial."
