Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit told the High Court his position that Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein must carry out the court’s Monday order to allow a vote for a new speaker Wednesday.
Meanwhile the Knesset’s legal adviser Eyal Yinon told the court that barring a new court order, Edelstein’s resignation will only enter into effect in 48 hours, until which time there is no way to force him to hold the vote.
