The IDF Spokesperson's Unit announced on Sunday that Hamas had successfully transmitted viruses to hundreds of IDF soldiers' mobile phones through female "catfish" profiles. Last weekend, a special hacking operation of Hamas's server infrastructure was carried out by the IDF and the Shin Bet security agency. The IDF said that the damage assessment at this stage was low and that soldiers would be required to hand in their phones for inspection and scrabbling of data.
