Israel Prize winner Rabbi Yaakov Ariel refuses to apologize for calling gay people "disabled," saying he would have no regrets if his award were withdrawn.
Ariel, the chief rabbi of Ramat Gan, was named as the winner of the illustrious award on Sunday for his advancement of Torah study.
The rabbi said that disabled was a "professional term... the professional definition in America 20 years ago," but did acknowledge that today it would be received in another way."
