Court extends remand of suspect in virus hotel rape case

Itay Blumenthal|
Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on Monday extended by four days the remand of Yarin Sherf, suspected of raping a 13-year-old girl at a state-run coronavirus hotel for at-risk youth last week.
A police representative during a court hearing asked for the suspect's remand to be extended by 10 days, noting that "the evidentiary material against the suspect has been strengthened."
The suspect's defense attorney, Nir David, said: "You are trying to produce something out of nothing and there are serious shortcomings in this case."
