Defense Minister Naftali Bennett has approved the allocation of 700 IDF troops to assist the police in enforcing emergency regulations.
In a tweet on Twitter Bennett wrote: "The soldiers will not carry firearms and will not carry out any enforcement on their own, but will only escort the police. This will double the police deployment so that instead of two police officers moving in the pair, there will be a soldier alongside a police officer. The assignment will require government approval on Sunday night."
