The IDF Intelligence Directorate reported Monday morning that 3,038 new coronavirus cases have been diagnosed the previous day, with 75% of them being people under 40.
In total, some 50,000 tests were conducted Sunday, putting the contagion rate at 6.3%.
The IDF warned that the coming weeks could see a renewed rise in cases due to restrictions being lifted and the prevalence of the more infectious UK coronavirus variant.
