The government run hotels opened to house quarantined Israelis who arrived from abroad will be closed at midnight after the Knesset Justice Law and Constitution committee refused to extend the law regulating their operation.
The Israeli government in response, decided to limit the number of people allowed to enter the country to only 200 after up to 2,000 were allowed to enter daily while the quarantine hotels were operational.
Israel's main port of entry, the Ben Gurion International Airport was closed for civilian travel last month in attempts to prevent new variants of coronavirus from spreading in the population.
