The Health Ministry reported Friday evening that 1,761 new coronavirus cases had been diagnosed the day prior.
With 31 thousand tests conducted, the contagion rate now stands at 5.7%.
There are 1,330 patients in serious condition, with 296 connected to ventilators.
The death toll since the start of the pandemic stands at 5,526 .
