Knesset Coronavirus Committee votes to reopen swimming pools and gyms

The Knesset's Coronavirus Committee voted on Monday to reopen public swimming pools and gyms across Israel despite a spike in coronavirus, overruling a decision made earlier by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Health Minister Yuli Edelstein.
Earlier it was announced that swimming pools can open under a "purple ribbon" designation, and Netanyahu and Edelstein decided that gyms across the country will remain shut.
The committee is set to have a second vote on the issue later in the afternoon.
