At least 14 people were killed when an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.8 rocked eastern Turkey on Friday.
More than 300 were injured and several were trapped in the wreckage of toppled buildings, Turkish officials said.
Rescue teams from neighboring provinces were dispatched to the affected areas, and Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said troops were on standby to help.
