The Health Ministry reported Sunday that 229 coronavirus cases were diagnosed on Saturday, out of the 16,841 tests conducted. There are currently 468 patients in serious condition, of which 212 are connected to ventilators.
Since the onset of the pandemic, 6,183 people have succumbed to the virus.
To date, Israel's coronavirus vaccination campaign gave 5,220,509 Israelis the first vaccine dose, and 4,710,716 the second dose.
