Gabi Ashkenazi, Benny Gantz’s No. 2 in the Israel Resilience party, tweeted: “The country is in national crisis, one of the worst we’ve known. A difficult crisis demands difficult decisions.”
He added: “We could not stand aside at a time like this. Israeli citizens now need a national emergency government.”
