Israel's state budget deficit in 2020 stands at NIS 160.3 billion - the highest in the country's history and one of the largest in the world relative to the country's GDP - while a higher deficit was measured only in the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, Iceland and Australia.
However, Israel's GDP decline in 2020 was only 3.3% - a relatively small number compared to most other countries.
