Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi paid a visit Wednesday to the sole survivor of Monday's helicopter crash, Capt. Ron Berman, who is being treated in Haifa's Rambam Health Care Campus.
"Ron made every effort to save his friends, unfortunately it did not work out," said Kochavi, referring to Lt. Col. Erez Sachyani and Maj. Chen Fogel, the two IAF pilots who died in the crash.
"He is an outstanding man and we are lucky to have officers such as him," added Kochavi.
