Hundreds leave quarantine hotels for self-isolation before authorities equipped to monitor, enforce regulations

Haim Golditch|Updated:

Hundreds of Israelis who had been quarantined in government run hotels left late on Saturday, for self-isolation though authorities said they were not yet equipped for monitoring or enforcement of regulations.
After the government's decision last week to institute electronic monitoring of quarantines conducted at home for those who chose them, coronavirus quarantine hotel required only a signed commitment from people leaving their facilities, that they will continue to quarantine.
Health Ministry officials said they hoped their electronic monitoring program will be up to speed soon and until then would rely on the limited police enforcement.
