Border officials Monday thwarted an attempted smuggling of 13 gold bars from the Gaza Strip hidden at the bottom of cardboard boxes containing 20 tons of tomatoes. The shipment was discovered at the Kerem Shalom crossing and was destined for the West Bank. The gold was taken by authorities, who launched an investigation into the incident.
