Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Naftali Bennett, discussed on Wednesday, about the possibility of Bennett's party, Yamina, joining the government - but failed to reach an agreement.
According to the Likud, Netanyahu offered Bennett the education portfolio, or any other senior economic portfolio of his choice, in addition to the Jerusalem portfolio and the Settlement, National Service and Heritage portfolio, but rejected all offer due to “ infighting in Yamina over the distribution of portfolios."
"If the prime minister wants us marginalized, weak and without influence, we would rather go to the opposition," said Bennett.
