A policeman opened fire at an assailant who stabbed him in the leg on a street in Rosh Ha'Ayin.
The 28-year-old policeman was lightly hurt in the incident and his attacker in his 40s was critically wounded.
The two were taken to Rabin Medical Center in nearby Petah Tikva.
