Ministers on Tuesday designated the central city of Elad and several neighborhoods in Tiberias as "restricted coronavirus zones" due to the steep rise in virus cases in these towns.
These areas could be subject to harsh restrictions on gatherings and travel.
The government is also reportedly mulling imposing a similar designation on the Tel Aviv suburb of Bat Yam.
