Defense Minister Benny Gantz ordered the IDF to send hundred of IDF soldiers to red cities, in order to aid police forces enforce the newly announced general closure in these localities.
In addition, Gantz instructed Home Front Command to increase its activity in these cities through epidemiological investigations, tests and assistance with food package distribution. Gantz has also approved the extended service of 7,000 reserve soldiers, in order to aid in the fight against the pandemic.
