Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir announced that foreign reporters who wish to broadcast from Israel during combat will be required to obtain prior written approval from the military censor - both for the broadcast itself and its location. This follows the shutdown of broadcasts, including Qatar's Al Jazeera channel, which violated censorship directives and published locations of rocket impacts. In a joint statement, they said they will not allow "media recklessness during wartime," but did not specify how they would enforce this.
