Vance: 'There are flaws in talks with Iran. We didn't reach a deal - and we're heading back to the U.S.'

|
At the end of the third round of talks with Iran, U.S. Vice President JD Vance issued a statement to the media in which he said the talks did not lead to a deal. "We had a number of substantive discussions with the Iranians. That's the good news," Vance said. "The bad news is that we didn't reach a deal, and I think that's much worse news for Iran than it is bad news for us. So we're heading back to the U.S. without having reached a deal." He added: "There are flaws in the talks with Iran, which chose not to accept the U.S. terms. We were quite flexible. We need to get a commitment that Iran will not pursue nuclear weapons. We came here with a very simple offer - and this is our final and best offer."
