At a meeting of senior rabbis from the religious-Zionist movement held on Thursday, many participants protested the IDF's intention to integrate female combat soldiers into the armored corps. According to them, this would make it difficult for religious soldiers to serve in the corps. Rabbi Yaakov Medan said at the event: "I am not opposed to women's service, but we will not serve in a place where there is mixed-gender integration." Rabbi Yehuda Gilad said: "This is very problematic from a halachic perspective."
