IDF Chief: 'Non-values incidents are no less dangerous than operational threats'

|
IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir addressed the senior command staff at the Ramat David Air Force Base, referring to the ongoing fighting across all sectors. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of maintaining the military's values and mentioned recent incidents such as the destruction of a Jesus statue in Lebanon. "The incidents that contradict our values that we have seen are the result of a long and complex period, but this does not justify them. We must not compromise on our values. A normative decline could be no less dangerous than operational threats. The phenomenon of looting, if it exists, is disgraceful and could tarnish the entire IDF." He added: "The order of the day is to increase the number of soldiers and combatants, and we will stand by this."
