Two American officials told the AP news agency that "the United States is diverting military resources, including ships, to the Middle East following Israeli strikes on Iran and the possibility of a response from Tehran. Among others, the destroyer 'Thomas Hudner,' which is capable of assisting in intercepting ballistic missiles, will sail from the western Mediterranean toward the east. The Navy has ordered an additional destroyer to begin moving to the area to be available if needed."
