The incident in which four IDF soldiers were killed began around 6:00 AM, when a cell of four terrorists attacked a fortified position located between Jabaliya and the outskirts of Gaza's Sheikh Radwan neighborhood. The terrorists threw an explosive device into the manned tank stationed at the entrance and fired at its commander. The soldiers returned fire and eliminated at least one terrorist, while the others apparently managed to escape. The military is investigating whether the terrorists infiltrated through a nearby tunnel that had not been detected.
