Police Commissioners Back Chief Levy Against Ben-Gvir: 'We support the commissioner, won't allow harm to commanders and officers'

|
After National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir claimed that Police Commissioner Dani Levy ordered the use of excessive force against ultra-Orthodox protesters and even asked to 'see blood,' the General Command staff issued an unusual letter of support for Levy, firmly rejecting Ben-Gvir's allegations. In the letter, signed by police commissioners, it states: 'We wish to express our full and unequivocal support for the commissioner and firmly reject the serious allegations made against him. We have never heard from him any instruction or statement calling for the unlawful use of force against citizens or protesters, from any sector. On the contrary. We will not allow attempts to undermine the professional independence of the Israel Police or harm its commanders and officers.'
