Police arrested and detained three former players, two men and one woman, on suspicion of match-fixing in the women's Premier League soccer, as part of an organized betting scheme. In recent months, the National Unit for Investigating Economic Crime (Lahav 433) conducted an undercover investigation in cooperation with the Football Association, during which suspicion arose of match-fixing in exchange for monetary payments. The investigation revealed suspicion of an organized and systematic betting mechanism that operated with the aim of influencing match results and generating financial profits from betting.
