The Health Ministry reported that a mixed-breed dog, medium to large in size, brown with white patches around the neck and snout, was found infected with rabies in the town of Beit Arye, on Hazayit and Tirosh streets. Nine people were exposed to the infected dog. Additionally, a Canaan breed dog, medium to large in size, white with brown patches, was found infected with rabies in the town of Eli. Two people were exposed to the dog. The ministry is asking anyone who had contact, or whose animals had contact, with the infected animal or a stray animal in the area of the incident, to contact the health bureau. The case of exposure to the rabid dog in the town of Beit Arye occurred between August 22 and September 5. The case of exposure to the rabid dog in the town of Eli occurred from September 1 to 5 inclusive. In both cases, contact the Ramla District Health Bureau urgently at 08-9181202.
