The Police Internal Investigations Department arrested Officer Kasai Behta, a 51-year-old Beer Sheva resident, on suspicion of taking bribes, fraud, breach of trust and obstruction of justice. According to suspicions, Behta regularly received compensation from citizens in exchange for assistance he provided them in his official capacity, and interfered with investigations concerning them. The Beer Sheva Magistrate's Court extended his detention by five days. According to an update received by ynet, in July 2023 it was decided to close the investigation against the police officer.
