Netanyahu on the agreement: 'Israel remains in the security zone, we will allow the Lebanese army to occupy territory'

|
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the framework agreement signed between Israel and Lebanon in Washington, saying that "lengthy negotiations have now borne fruit." According to him, "The most important thing is that first of all, Israel remains in the security zone in southern Lebanon. This is a major achievement, and we maintain it as long as Hezbollah has not disarmed, as long as there is a threat to the State of Israel. This is also a major blow to Iran. And essentially Israel, Lebanon and the United States are telling them - this is not your business. We are constantly maintaining the original security zone outside the anti-tank range. The other thing is of course that we are allowing the Lebanese army to start organizing to occupy territory. We are doing two pilot zones. Both on the recommendation of the IDF."
