Immigration and Absorption Minister Ofir Sofer was in Azerbaijan, which shares a border with the Islamic Republic, during the Israeli attack on Iran. Sofer arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in a Jewish youth seminar, along with a delegation from the Jewish Agency. Following the Israeli attack, the plan was changed - and he attended only one event with the Jewish community on Friday. Security officials prohibited him from leaving the hotel, and that night he was flown to Athens. From the Greek capital, Sofer flew to Larnaca, then traveled to Limassol - from there he returned to Israel last night with a Jewish Agency delegation, by yacht.
