Police Commissioner: 'We will not allow violence, threats and incitement from any side to harm the democratic process'

|
Police Commissioner Chief Superintendent Dani Levi stated ahead of the elections that "the police are ready and prepared to stand guard over Israeli democracy. Anyone who tries to harm the integrity of the elections will face a strong, determined, non-partisan and uncompromising police force. We will not allow violence, threats, incitement or criminal activity to harm the voter's will. We will not allow thuggery from any side to harm the democratic process." The police updated that preparations for the elections have been completed and include providing a response to terrorist threats in cooperation with the Shin Bet, alongside preparations for maintaining public order once election results are known and in the days following.
